Willie “Butch” Borchert District 75 - Henry, Benton, and Stewart Counties
Biography
Representative Butch Borchert is a lifelong resident of Benton County. Upon graduating from Holladay High School in 1956, he became a pipe fitter apprentice. He later owned and operated The Catfish Place seventeen years. During that time, Rep. Borchert received the 1982 Conservationist of the Year Award. He served on the Chamber of Commerce and was also a Mason.
Rep. Borchert ran for office in 2004 and has served in the 103rd, 104th, and 105th Tennessee General Assembly as a representative of the 75th District which includes Benton, Henry and Stewart counties. He serves as Vice-Chair of the House Agriculture Committee, Conservation and Environment Committee, Parks and Tourism Subcommittee, and the Wildlife Subcommittee. In addition to his work as a representative, Borchert serves on the Benton County Drug Task Force.
In 2006, Representative Borchert received the Outstanding Service Award from the Disabled American Veterans of Tennessee. Earlier this year he was appointed to the Joint Committee on Veterans Affairs.
Butch and his wife, Christine, will celebrate 50 years of marriage this May. The two have one son and two grandchildren.
