Biography

State Representative Gary W. Moore resides in Joelton with his wife, Gloria.  They have two children and four grandchildren.  He represents District 50, which includes Joelton,  Bellevue, Goodlettsville, Madison and Scottsboro.  Representative Moore is active in the communities he represents, and is a member of First Baptist Church, Joelton.  He attended the National Labor College and Volunteer State Community College.  

Currently Representative Moore serves on the State & Local Government committee, Elections subcommittee, Consumer & Employee Affairs committee, Employee Affairs subcommittee and Calendar & Rules committee

With a profound concern for our environment, our youth, our senior citizens, our veterans and in fact, all the citizens of Tennessee; Representative Moore is always willing to organize or become involved in any cause that will benefit them.  He is a seasoned charity fundraiser, organized a citizens environmental group, is a founding member of “Get Kids Hooked on Fishing Instead of Drugs” and has organized Property Tax Assistance, Inc., a 501 ( c ) 3 that will provide tax assistance to low income senior citizens--just to name a few of his achievements. 

Representative Moore prides himself on being fair, on keeping an open mind on the issues and on keeping his constituents informed.  He has an “open door” policy which welcomes everyone to come by and talk over any issue they may have. He is tireless in helping other people and a true champion of working men and women.

Representative Moore has served as a Nashville Firefighter for 30 years, and has held the position of Captain with the Nashville Fire Department for 11 years.   He has over 40 years experience in developing various types of business and community organizations on a local, state and multi-state level.  He has received numerous awards for his labor involvement in Tennessee.
