Joe Pitts

Biography
A native of Clarksville, Tennessee, Joe Pitts is in his second term serving the people of District 67 in the Tennessee House of Representatives. He serves on the House Education Committee and the Commerce Committee, where he is Vice Chairman of the Utilities and Banking subcommittee. Outside his service in the Tennessee General Assembly, Joe is Vice President of Planters Bank in Clarksville, a community bank with eight branches and $450 million in assets.
Joe has more than 20 years experience in economic development in positions across the state including being named director of the Upper Cumberland Community Health Agency by then Governor Ned McWherter. He serves on numerous non-profit community boards including the Clarksville-Montgomery County Education Foundation and the Austin Peay State University Foundation.
The husband of Cynthia, Joe is a father of five and grandfather of two and believes his life’s calling is to be of service to others. He is a graduate of Austin Peay State University, the Institute for Organizational Management at the University of Georgia, and the Emerging Political Leaders program at the University of Virginia.
